What’s new in the painting world, where is the technology going?
At this point in time, people are prioritizing longevity and scuff resistance in their paint, especially in commercial settings and areas in residential settings that endure a lot of traffic.
This includes bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways. Although oil-based paints are known to be scuff resistant and durable, acrylic and water-based paints dry faster, do not release as strong of an odor, and are less expensive.
For these reasons, it seems that development in paint technology is being focused on acrylic and water-based paints while oil-based paints are being slowly phased out of the market space.
